GX-A/GF-A Series overview

The A&D GX-A/GF-A Series (Apollo) is a range of 35 analytical and precision balances offering 0.1 mg (0.0001 g) readability across capacities from 123 g to 10.1 kg. Built around A&D Japan's Super Hybrid Sensor (SHS) technology, the series delivers fast, stable weighing — typically under 1.5 seconds — making it suited to high-throughput laboratory, pharmaceutical, and food-quality work. GX-A models include an internal calibration mass for automatic span adjustment that compensates for ambient temperature change, a practical advantage in UAE laboratory environments; GF-A models use external calibration at a lower price point. Both lines share a stainless-steel pan, a touchless sensor switch to reduce contamination, GLP/GMP/ISO-compatible data output, and A&D's WinCT Windows communication software for direct PC data capture. The Apollo Series replaced the discontinued GX/GF generation and is A&D Gulf's flagship general-purpose weighing line for laboratories, R&D departments, and production QC teams across the UAE and GCC. The GX-224A is an analytical model in the Apollo GX-A/GF-A series — 220 g capacity, 0.0001 g (0.1 mg) readability, with an internal calibration mass and a typical minimum weight of 120 mg. It is used for quantitative analysis, sample preparation, and precious metal weighing where the last decimal place matters. If you need true semi-micro resolution of 0.00001 g (0.01 mg), that is the A&D GH-252 or GH-202 rather than the GX-A range.

What is the difference between the GX-224A and GF-224A?

The GX-224A includes an internal calibration mass for automatic self-calibration; the GF-224A is the same balance calibrated with external weights. If your laboratory experiences temperature swings or you want calibration without operator intervention, choose the GX-A version.

Is the GX-224A suitable for gold and jewellery weighing in Dubai?

Yes. Its 0.1 mg readability and automatic internal calibration make it well suited to jewellery manufacturing QC and gold counter weighing, where temperature fluctuations would otherwise cause drift.
