Metal detection is the right choice when the primary contaminant risk is ferrous, non-ferrous, or stainless steel fragments, and the product is not highly conductive or wet. X-ray inspection is required when glass, ceramic, stone, dense plastic, or bone fragment contamination is the primary risk — metal detectors cannot reliably detect these. X-ray also provides checkweighing and fill-level inspection in the same pass. For products already wrapped in foil or metallised film, X-ray is the only viable inspection method.
How quickly can moisture analyzers return results compared to oven drying?
Traditional convection oven drying methods (ISO 712, AOAC methods) require 1–24 hours depending on the product matrix and moisture level.
