FZ-i/FX-i Series overview
The A&D FZ-i/FX-i Series is a range of 16 precision balances reading from 1 mg to 0.01 g with capacities of 120 g to 5.1 kg, built around A&D's patented Compact Super Hybrid Sensor (C-SHS) for one-second stabilisation. FZ-i models add internal calibration; FX-i models use external calibration. The FX-GD gold balances sold into the gold and diamond trade — FX-120GD, FX-200GD, FX-300GD, FX-1200GD, FX-2000GD and FX-3000GD — are these same FX-i instruments with gold-trade branding, so the FX-3000GD is the FX-3000i. Multiple weighing units, counting, percent and comparator modes, and GLP/GMP/GCP/ISO-compliant data output make it a versatile general-purpose precision balance for production-floor and laboratory settings. Note that the FZ-i/FX-i itself carries no ingress-protection rating — for washdown or wet areas, choose its IP65 sibling, the FZ-iWP/FX-iWP. FX-500i or FZ-500i?
They are the same balance with the same capacity, readability and pan; the difference is calibration. The FZ-500i has internal calibration on the FZ-i, driven by an air-pump actuator that loads the built-in weight, so it re-calibrates itself without a weight and logs it for GLP/GMP records. The FX-500i calibrates against an external certified weight that you place on the pan. Choose the FZ-500i where the balance is calibrated often, moved between rooms, exposed to temperature swings, or audited; choose the FX-500i for a stable bench where you own a calibration weight and the lower purchase cost matters. A&D Gulf supplies both from Dubai; a calibration certificate is available on request.
