Fortis FZ/FX Series overview
The Fortis FZ/FX Series is A&D Japan's new-generation standard-level balance family, introduced in 2026 as the successor to both the long-selling FZ-i/FX-i precision line and the discontinued HR-AZ/HR-A analytical series. Its analytical tier — FZ/FX-104, -154 and -254, plus the dual-range FZ/FX-254D with a 62 g fine range inside a 252 g capacity — delivers 0.1 mg readability with approximately 2-second stabilization, an antistatic-coated breeze break, and USP Chapter 41 minimum-weight guidance stated directly in the specifications. FZ models carry built-in automatic internal calibration; FX models use external calibration weights. Beyond the analytical models, the wider Fortis family extends through 0.001 g and 0.01 g classes up to 5,200 g, including IP65 dust- and waterproof -WP variants, with options spanning Ethernet, Bluetooth and rechargeable-battery operation.
